This program provides a unique opportunity for those selected to work closely with researchers in a world-class research institute, gaining hands-on experience with actual, current research projects. Students must commit to a minimum 20 volunteer hours per week during the 6 week program plus a full day of final project presentations, although actual hours may vary. Every student will receive a minimum of 90 volunteer hours in the Institute. Volunteer hours must be completed on Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., June 8 - July 20, 2009.
Recently, at Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute, N.J. Tao and collaborators have found a way to make a key electrical component on a phenomenally tiny scale. Their single-molecule diode is described in this week’s online edition of Nature Chemistry.
