Biodesign Graduate Research Assistantships

The Biodesign Institute provides a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment that prepares graduate students equally well for research roles in an academic environment or in private industry. Among the signature benefits that distinguish us are the following:

  • An interdisciplinary training program that includes rotation through multiple research centers.
  • A new facility comprised of nearly 350,000 sq. ft. divided into two interconnected buildings. The facility is well-equipped with the latest in lab instrumentation and technologies.
  • A culture of entrepreneurial research that allows tremendous opportunity for creative thinkers. Big ideas are encouraged; and institute faculty and leaders have proven experience in translational research that moves rapidly from discovery and design to development and delivery.

As a new, vanguard initiative at ASU, the Biodesign Institute represents research at the forefront of fields combining biology, engineering and computing. The Biodesign Institute is the largest investment in biotech research infrastructure in Arizona , and because of its multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to science, draws upon a wide variety of disciplines for its graduate students, primarily from those accepted into the School of Life Sciences, the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering, Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry and the new School of Computing and Informatics.
