Description

The Center for Single Molecule Biophysics at the Biodesign Institute at ASU seeks an Assistant Research Professional to work as a member of a specialized team performing research related to developing the new generation of DNA sequencing technologies.  The primary duty is to synthesize organic compounds for biophysical study of molecular recognition. The role includes responsibility for designing and executing organic reactions, separating and purifying the desired molecules with milligram and gram scale, and  writing research reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. in organic chemistry, OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in: multistep synthesis; NMR; chromatography.  Demonstrated knowledge in biophysics and biochemistry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively work on a team.
