What We Do:
“We apply the principles of Darwinian evolution to create functional molecules in the laboratory, and study these molecules using a wide range of chemical and synthetic biology tools. The goal of this research is to improve our fundamental understanding of biological macromolecules, the structures they adopt, and their potential applications in molecular medicine.”

Recently, at Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute, N.J. Tao and collaborators have found a way to make a key electrical component on a phenomenally tiny scale. Their single-molecule diode is described in this week’s online edition of Nature Chemistry.
