Yan Lab: Research

Nucleic acid nanotechnology: Research interest of our laboratory centers on self-assembly of nanostructures, particularly using DNA as an assembly element. We would like to use this new technology to develop molecular motors, sensors and templates for more complex nanostructural systems and biotechnology applications.

Nanoelectronics and nanophotonics: We are interested in utilizing rationally designed DNA nanoarchitectures and other bio-mimetic approaches to template nanoelectronic and nanophotonics components such as nanoparticles into functional nanodevices and study their fundamental properties.

Novel nano-toolboxes: We are interested in developing novel nano-toolboxes such as quantum dot bio-conjugate libraries for multiplexed bio-sensing, proteomics, cellular and tissue imaging and drug delivery.
