Associate Director, Office of Government and Industry Liaison

Bio

Kevin Baugh is the Associate Director, Government and Industry Liaison Office, The Biodesign Institute, Arizona State University. His responsibilities include the development of new business initiatives, and outreach to defense and homeland security associated research organizations and laboratories. A team builder, one of his missions is to facilitate the creation of interdisciplinary teams to help the University to capture fundamentally new lines of business. Since coming to ASU, Baugh has been one of the leaders in developing stronger relationships between the Biodesign Institute and other key research centers at the University.

Baugh comes to Arizona with more that 20 years of experience in military and government related service. He began his career as a Naval Special Warfare Officer serving with distinction as a leader and as an advisor to senior civilian policymakers. Following his retirement from active military service, he served as the Assistant for Operations Research within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense For Special Operations and Low-Intensity conflict. Upon leaving government service, he focused on providing highly specialized consulting services to the U.S. Government with a particular focus on the application of emerging technology to military problems. His efforts contributed to the development of a number of novel reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities for Special Operations Forces in support of the Global War on Terrorism.

Kevin is a graduate of the Naval Academy (BS Mathematics) and Georgetown University where he received a Master of Science in Foreign Service with honors.
